From Self-Criticism to Self-Love: An Unexpected Tennis Court Epiphany - Laura Day's Intro

He doesn’t know what’s wrong. He’s angry. And I’m listening to this thinking that’s my message. Our negative self talk that’s in our head.

Hi there. This is Laura Day, and I have been standing in this park trying to come up with words, to make a video, to introduce myself. And so many thoughts in my head. Don't know what want to say. This is my 20th take, and I'm standing by tennis courts.

I'm listening to this gentleman verbally out loud all this negative self talk. He keeps hitting into the net. He keeps making the same bad shot. Can't stop. He doesn't know what's wrong. He's angry at his partner. And I'm listening to this thinking that's my message. our negative self talk that's in our head, he just happens to be verbalizing it because he's on a tennis court and he's very frustrated.

And I want to go over there and give him a pep talk. I really do. Because it doesn't have to be like that. Doesn't have to be that far. We just have to be mindful. And we have to be aware of our thoughts. What we tell ourselves, how we perceive ourselves, how we judge ourselves, how we judge others.

So I would love to continue to put low messages out here, and if you would like to connect with me, I would love that just as well.
